Sheriff's Office Names Person of Interest in Suspicious Death Case

On May 13, 2020, at approximately 1:36 PM, our Communications Center dispatched Manitou Springs Police officers to El Paso Boulevard in Manitou Springs on a Check the Welfare call.  Upon arriving on scene, officers discovered a deceased male inside a residence.

Due to suspicious circumstances found, Manitou Springs Police Department asked for the assistance of our Investigations Division.  

Bobby Joe Berry (DOB: 08/24/76) has been named as a Person of Interest in this case. He is described as a white male, 6’01”, 160 pounds, brown hair with blue eyes. 

Berry does not have a known associated vehicle, but license plates from the deceased party’s vehicle are missing, Colorado license plate, 472-VGK. 

Berry possibly has friends in the Dallas, Texas and Borger, Texas areas. If seen, please be vigilant and do not approach, he is considered armed and dangerous.
