El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal, Fire Warden, issued the following statement after implementing Stage I Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas of El Paso County last week:
On July 23, 2024, Samantha Peterson was booked into the El Paso County Jail on multiple traffic charges and an outstanding warrant. Ms. Peterson was offered the opportunity to surrender any contraband under Sheriff Roybal's Contraband Reduction Drug Amnesty Program, which she declined.
On August 1, 2024, around 2:30 a.m. the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 911 call requesting a welfare check in the 13000 block of Halleluiah Trail in unincorporated El Paso County. The caller reported that a female at the residence was unresponsive.
Today, after a thorough review of current fire danger conditions and following the El Paso County Wildland Fire Restriction Evaluation Guidelines, Sheriff, and Fire Warden Joseph Roybal has implemented Stage I Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas of El Paso County.
