The El Paso County Sheriff's Office announces a settlement was reached between El Paso County, Colorado, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and the Estate of Dezaree Archuleta. 
 

On February 2, 2024, 33 year-old Marie Lahoff, a Deputy Sheriff with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, was arrested by the Colorado Springs Police Department and booked into the El Paso County Jail.
 

In coordination with and on behalf of the Fountain Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office provides the below update regarding the Officer Involved Shooting which occurred on January 27, 2024.
 

On January 17, 2024, at about 10:30 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a check the welfare request in the 18000 block of Eurich Rd in unincorporated El Paso County.  Upon arrival, deputies located two deceased adults, one male and one female.
 

Today, Sheriff Joe Roybal announced a new contract with healthcare provider, VitalCore Health Strategies, to serve the incarcerated citizens at the El Paso County Jail. VitalCore replaces the previous provider, Wellpath, which provided services from January 1, 2020 - Dec 31, 2023.

One year ago today, Sheriff Roybal stood before the citizens of El Paso County and swore to protect and serve our community.

On December 26, 2023, at approximately 7:42 a.m., a 44-year-old adult male was found unresponsive and not breathing in his assigned, single occupancy cell.

On December 8, 2023, the 4th Judicial District Court accepted a plea from 69-year-old Robert Henry Gordon for Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust, Unlawful Sexual Contact, and Enticement of a Child.

On December 17, 2023, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at an address in the 8100 block of Piute Rd in unincorporated El Paso County.
