Last week, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office hosted a Regional Mounted Unit School, at Latigo Trails Equestrian Center in El Paso County, Colorado.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division is asking for the public’s assistance locating Nadya Hayes.  She is 17 years old, 5’3”, weighing about 130 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.

This morning, Sheriff Joe Roybal, and members of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Command Staff welcomed the 43 deputy recruits, Class 23-4, to their first day of training at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy.

Today, Sheriff Roybal, Fire Warden for El Paso County, and members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office participated in the planned Ute Pass Evacuation Drill and Preparedness Fair- a mock wildfire evacuation drill in the Chipita Park and Green Mountain Falls area.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help investigating a series of burglaries that were reported September 25, 2023. This spree occurred in the area of Short Grass Court, Blue Fescue Court, and Green Grass Court in unincorporated El Paso County, CO.

Last week, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Wildland Fire Group assisted the U.S. Forest Service with a prescribed burn operation near Rampart Range Road and Forest Service Road 314. This operation was the first prescribed burn implemented by the U.S.

Today, El Paso County Sheriff Joe Roybal announced the release of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Strategic Plan, a roadmap to the future of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. 

This afternoon, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal, Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell, and members of both the El Paso County and Teller County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the Special Response team graduation of 9 deputies from El Paso County and 1 deputy from Teller County.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Theft case that occurred at the Smart Space Storage lot located at 5210 Tamlin Rd. in unincorporated El Paso County, CO.

This afternoon, during a ceremony at in Colorado Springs, Colorado, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal administered the oath of office to 19 POST Certified El Paso County Deputy Recruits, and one Monument Police Department Recruit.

On September 4, 2023, a male inmate in the El Paso County Jail died while in custody.  At about 5:45 a.m., 42-year-old Jamin Robertson was housed in the medical unit and was found unresponsive and not breathing in his cell. 

On the morning of August 29, 2023, at about 0900 hours, Joshua Cordova, a 42 year-old male, walked into the main public entrance/screening area of the El Paso County Courthouse located at 270 S.

Today, El Paso County Sheriff Joe Roybal announced a settlement was reached between El Paso County, Colorado, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and the Estate of William Johnson.

On the evening of August 19, 2023, at about 10:18 p.m., a 911 call came into the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.  The caller reported there had been a shooting in the 4000 block of Ford Drive in unincorporated El Paso County.

During the morning of August 17, 2023, the Colorado Springs Police Department Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) was contacted by the US Marshal Service and Colorado State Parole regarding an operation occurring in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This past week, on August 18th and 19th, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit, along with several grant-funded deputies, participated in a traffic enforcement surge operation. 

On Monday August 14, 2023, at around 10 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received multiple calls regarding shots fired in the area of Highway 94 near Ellicott in unincorporated El Paso County. This area is a new housing construction site.

During the morning of August 17, 2023, the Colorado Springs Police Department Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) was contacted by the US Marshal Service and Colorado State Parole regarding an operation occurring in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

During the week of July 31- August 5, law enforcement partners nationwide participated in National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Today, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the career and retirement of K9 Taz. 

K9 Taz began his service with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in November 2017, working exclusively with K9 handler Deputy Nicholas Witherite. 

This morning, Sheriff Joseph Roybal and members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, attended a wreath laying ceremony in honor of fallen El Paso County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Peery.

On August 5. 2023 at approximately 12:06 p.m. the El Paso County Communications Center received numerous reports of an aircraft crash in the area of Meadowlake Airport, near Falcon, in unincorporated El Paso County.  

On February 5, 2023, at around 12:50 a.m., numerous 911 calls were received by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center on reports of hearing multiple shots fired.

On July 7, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a robbery at The State Bank on McLaughlin Road in Unincorporated El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications. The Citizens' Academy will begin on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

On June 30, 2023, after an in-depth investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Devon Bobian was arrested on second degree felony murder charges, for the death of Fountain Police Officer Julian Becerra.
