EPSO Press Release: On January 17, 2020, at approximately 9:50 PM, an inmate in the El Paso County Jail died while in custody.  The inmate was housed in the medical section at the time, and passed despite immediate life saving measures by deputies, medical staff and first responders.

On January 21, 2020 at approximately 10:10 AM, our Communication Center received a 911 call in reference to a robbery at the 100 block of Fontaine Blvd.

On January 22, 2020 at approximately 6:29 AM, the Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a call regarding a person threatening parties while inflicting self-harm in a motel room.  This incident occurred in the 600 block of Peterson Road.

On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at approximately 11:57 PM, an officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Galley Road and Arrawanna Street.  The traffic stop was initiated due an expired license plate registration.

On December 28, 2019, at approximately 1:15 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center 911 received a call from a female inside her recreational vehicle (RV) in the Safeway parking lot located on McLaughlin Road in Falcon.

On December 27th, 2019, at approximately 8:16 AM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a call of potential animal abuse on Highway 24 near Soap Weed Road.  Information relayed indicated canine puppies were thrown from a moving vehicle. 

On December 18, 2019 at approximately 2:30 PM, the Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a call regarding a disturbance in the 6800 block of Noble Street involving a person known to law enforcement with  active warrants to include a violent Felony, Kyle Miller, DOB: 03/21/87.

The Sheriff's Office has received a report of another phone scam.  The caller made numerous phone calls and left voice mails advising multiple victims of a warrant or of a legal matter from our Civil Division.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the death of Thomas Anthony Faircloth, DOB 02/28/1992, as a homicide. Faircloth was found deceased near Galley Road and Powers Boulevard on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

On September 14, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office call taker, Janell Peralta, answered a 9-1-1 call from a twelve (now thirteen) year old girl.  This brave individual called 9-1-1 when her mother began experiencing some medical issues and was unable to call.  

The Sheriff's Office has received a report of another phone scam.  The caller advised the victim of a missed court date and a citation would need to be paid in excess of $4,000.00.  In these most recent cases, they are using the name of an actual employee of the Sheriff's Office and a judge.  

On Tuesday November 12, 2019, at approximately 1:42 AM, a medical emergency was declared in a male housing ward at the El Paso County Jail.

On October 18, 2019, at approximately 12:46 pm, EPSO Dispatch received a call for service reference someone siphoning gas from a truck in the parking lot of the Safeway store at McLaughlin Road in Falcon.  The reporting party was able to identify the suspects.
