On January 27, 2020, the Sheriff's Office took a report for a juvenile runaway, eleven year old Gannon Stauch. He was last seen on January 27th, 2020, in his home by his step-mother between 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM, he resides in the 6000 block of Mandan Drive, Security, Colorado.
On January 24, 2020 at approximately 8:48 PM, our Communication Center dispatched deputies to a Business Alarm check at the 2200 block of Waynoka Road.

The Sheriff's Office has received a report of another phone scam. The caller made numerous phone calls and left voice mails advising multiple victims of a warrant or of a legal matter from our Civil Division.

On September 14, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office call taker, Janell Peralta, answered a 9-1-1 call from a twelve (now thirteen) year old girl. This brave individual called 9-1-1 when her mother began experiencing some medical issues and was unable to call.
The Sheriff's Office has received a report of another phone scam. The caller advised the victim of a missed court date and a citation would need to be paid in excess of $4,000.00. In these most recent cases, they are using the name of an actual employee of the Sheriff's Office and a judge.
