The El Paso County Jail will be upgrading many areas and equipment to ensure the health and safety of staff and the incarcerated population. These upgrades are intended to reduce the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19 and increase overall safety and security of the jail.
The El Paso county Sheriff’s Office has completed a several months long investigation into a juvenile death that occurred on March 11, 2020.
On Thursday, June 4, 2020, the Sheriff's Office took a report for missing and endangered juvenile, Elizabeth "Lizzy" McPherson, DOB: 08/02/03.

UPDATE: Our investigation has revealed Lizzy made it to Denver, Colorado. It is possible she may be headed to Florida in addition to Texas. We are asking Media outlets to share this with your affiliates across the country.

Sheriff's Office Arrests Juvenile in Multiple Burglary Cases
On January 17, 2020, at approximately 9:50 PM, an inmate, Brian Clark died while in custody in the El Paso County Jail. Clark was housed in the medical section at the time and died despite immediate life saving measures by deputies, medical staff and first responders.

On May 24, 2020, at approximately 9:55 AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department Communications Center dispatched officers to a Weapons Display call for service in the 2700 block of Ashgrove Street.
On May 22, 2020, at approximately 8:58 PM, two Teller County Sheriff's Office deputies encountered a male, near the intersection of County Road 94 and Teller County Road 32 (also known as Trail Creek Road), who matched the description of someone that was wanted for Felony Menacing.

Sheriff's Office Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Teller County
On May 11, 2020, in the 3900 block of Pine Air Place, a victim checked their mail after the usual delivery time and noticed their mailbox was empty. The victim also noticed several empty envelopes laying on the ground near the mailboxes.
On May 20, 2020, between 4:18 AM through 4:44 AM, two suspects accessed vending machines at a car wash located in the 7400 block of McLaughlin Road. The suspects used a blow torch to break into the vending machines and stole money from it.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate Allen Lee Burton (DOB: 08/24/86).
Burton has a Felony arrest warrant for Sex Offender Registration Violation.
